Is it possible that the real meaning of Christmas has become so wrapped up in the packaging that it has become difficult to know what it is all about?
The wrapping can be fun - trees, tinsel, gifts, holiday, parties and celebrations. However the season can leave us feeling empty and wondering “Why Christmas?”
But what about the real story?

Is it possible to unwrap Christmas and get back to heart of what Christmas is all about?
What is at the heart of the story? It centres on the birth of a child and the coming of a King. But even this part of the story has had so much added glitz along the way that we can miss the real truth behind it all.
Unpacking the story
"Good News - Great Joy”
God becomes one of us and history changes for ever"
One of Jesus' closest friends, John, sums it up like this:
"So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son." (1)
Just Chapter One
The Christmas story is just the first chapter of the Jesus story and the truth about a God who loves us and has a plan for each of our lives. Jesus said:
"For God loved the world so much that he gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life." (2)
In other words, the Christmas story is not just about a cute baby. It is a story of life and death, about a God who loves us and is totally committed to us getting to know him.
Our hope is that this Christmas you will discover for yourself the central character of Christmas – Jesus – and in discovering Him your life will change forever!
or ask the person who gave you this leaflet about a church you can visit this Christmas!
