Key Information

To work alongside the University Muslim Student Adviser and Associate Chaplains in enhancing the faith presence within Swansea University through the pastoral care and support of students and staff, providing leadership on matters of faith and engaging in the wider intellectual life of the University.

To provide effective strategic and operational management of Multi-Faith Chaplaincy and Community Liaison services at Swansea University, encompassing responsibility for the delivery of services to the highest standards and for ensuring the structure, staff, resources, policies, procedures and administrative and financial systems of the department are fit for purpose.

Reporting to the Head of Advice, Support and Welfare (CampusLife), this position is expected to engage the broader university and local community by implementing and administratively supporting inter-religious and intercultural programmes that bring together diverse groups of students and staff from different religious, spiritual and secular viewpoints to work together to build a more inclusive and pluralistic community on campus.

The role will also involve line management and strategic leadership of Swansea University’s Community Liaison Initiative, which works with local partners such as South Wales Police, Swansea Council and University of Wales Trinity St. David (Swansea Campus) to promote positive relationships between students of the advertised educational institutions and local communities and support the better integration of students as active citizens, complementing the University’s Community and Public Engagement Strategy.

Our Multi-Faith provision and community liaison both form an integral part of the wider offer of pastoral & wellbeing support to students at Swansea University so you will operate as an active member of the Advice, Support and Welfare Management Team (CampusLife) and participate in key activities of that service and other service areas within Student Services.
