Gilgal Baptist Church - Youth Worker

Do you have experience in discipling young people and building relationships with those outside the Church?

In 2020 Gilgal Baptist Church, Porthcawl, South Wales, has a vacancy for a youth worker. Initially this is a half-time post which may be increased to full-time subject to the church obtaining additional funding.

The successful candidate will be required to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service. It is an occupational requirement that the post holder must be a committed Christian.

This will include:

Entering date for events across Wales

The Beacon Centre is a not-for-profit community centre in the heart of one of the most deprived areas of Cardiff. Operating with an inclusive ethos based on the Christian faith, the Beacon Centre Trust is currently seeking a secretary to help us administer our meetings.

Supporting the Chair, you will be responsible for keeping accurate records of our discussions and decision making processes, as well as distributing minutes and supporting documents to all trustees.

Trustees currently meet monthly at the Beacon Centre on weekday evenings. Although there is no requirement for the successful candidate to identify as a Christian, you will be expected to respect the Christian faith, which forms the basis of our governance.

Role DescriptionOverall

To ensure that committee meetings are properly administered.

Specifically

  •  Plan and prepare the committee meetings and the AGM with others as appropriate.

  •  Minute committee meetings or ensure that another minute taker is available.

  •  Accurately record decisions and actions in the minutes.
